Preheat oven according to the chocolate cake mix instructions. Grease and flour two 23 cm round cake pans. Prepare the cake batter as specified on the package and divide evenly between pans. Bake according to package directions. Cool cakes completely before removal.

Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

In a large bowl, blend softened vanilla ice cream with powdered sugar until smooth. In a separate bowl, repeat with softened chocolate ice cream.

Place one cooled cake layer on a serving platter. Spread vanilla ice cream evenly on top. Arrange half of the sliced strawberries over the ice cream and drizzle with half of the melted chocolate.

Position the second cake layer on top. Spread the chocolate ice cream evenly over the layer. Arrange remaining strawberries and drizzle with the rest of the melted chocolate.

Cover the cake with whipped cream as a final layer. Drizzle hot fudge sauce generously over the whipped cream for finishing touch.

Transfer the assembled cake to the freezer for at least 120 minutes to firm up. Prior to serving, slice with a sharp knife and serve chilled.
