Fluffy layered biscuits with ham, cheddar, and plenty of butter, delicious warm from the oven.

# What You'll Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 310 grams all-purpose flour
02 - 15 millilitres baking powder
03 - 13 grams granulated sugar
04 - 5 grams salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 415 millilitres cold buttermilk
06 - 115 grams unsalted butter, melted
07 - 150 grams diced cooked ham
08 - 115 grams shredded cheddar or American cheese
09 - Sliced cheese, optional for layering
10 - Chopped chives, for topping

# Steps To Follow:

01 - Set oven to 230°C. Pour melted butter evenly into a 23x23 cm baking dish or a cast iron skillet.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
03 - Pour in cold buttermilk and stir until a shaggy dough forms, taking care not to overmix. Gently fold in diced ham and shredded cheese.
04 - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat into a rectangle, then fold over itself 2 to 3 times to develop distinct flaky layers.
05 - Cut dough into rounds using a biscuit cutter. For molten centers, sandwich sliced cheese between two thinner rounds if desired.
06 - Arrange biscuits closely together in the prepared pan. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped chives over each biscuit.
07 - Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until biscuits rise and the tops are deeply golden.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - For extra flakiness, ensure the buttermilk and ham are well chilled before preparing the dough.
