Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are soft and fragrant.

Add ground beef to the vegetable mixture. Break apart with a wooden spoon and cook until thoroughly browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes until sauce thickens and flavors meld together.

Portion spaghetti onto plates and top with generous spoonfuls of Bolognese sauce. Finish with freshly shaved parmesan cheese and torn basil leaves if desired.
