Crispy Thai Banana Roti Oreo (Printable Version)

Thai-style crispy banana roti with Oreo, chocolate, and bananas; a sweet, golden treat for any time.

# What You'll Need:

→ Roti Dough

01 - 125 g all-purpose flour
02 - 0.5 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
04 - 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or neutral oil
05 - 80 ml warm water, plus extra as needed
06 - Vegetable oil or ghee, for frying

→ Filling and Topping

07 - 2 ripe bananas, sliced
08 - 5 Oreo cookies, coarsely crushed
09 - 60 ml dark chocolate chips or chocolate sauce
10 - 1 tablespoon condensed milk, optional
11 - Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

# Steps To Follow:

01 - Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Incorporate melted butter, then gradually add warm water. Knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms, about 5–7 minutes. Divide dough into 2 or 3 equal portions, lightly coat with oil, cover, and let rest for 30–60 minutes.
02 - Slice bananas and crush Oreo cookies. Melt dark chocolate chips using a microwave or double boiler until smooth and pourable.
03 - Lightly oil a work surface. Flatten and gently stretch each dough ball until paper-thin. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with oil or ghee. Place dough onto the pan and arrange banana slices in the center. Fold edges over the filling to form a square or rectangle. Cook each side until golden and crisp, approximately 2–3 minutes per side.
04 - Transfer roti to a serving plate. Drizzle generously with melted dark chocolate or chocolate sauce. Scatter crushed Oreo cookies over the top. Optionally, finish with condensed milk or a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Resting the dough allows it to become more pliable and easier to stretch thin without tearing.
02 - For best results, ensure the pan is hot before adding the dough to achieve a crisp texture.
