# What You'll Need:

→ Dough

01 - 225 g unsalted butter, softened
02 - 100 g granulated sugar
03 - 60 g powdered sugar
04 - 1 large egg, at room temperature
05 - 1 large egg yolk, at room temperature
06 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
07 - 0.25 teaspoon salt

# Steps To Follow:

01 - Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
03 - In a stand mixer with paddle attachment, beat butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar at high speed for 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
04 - Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until combined.
05 - Gradually add the flour mixture in 2–3 batches, mixing after each addition until a smooth dough forms.
06 - Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large open star tip. Pipe desired shapes onto prepared sheets.
07 - If using jam or candied cherries, gently press the centre of each round cookie to create a small indentation.
08 - Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
09 - Allow cookies to cool on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
10 - Once cooled, decorate with melted chocolate, sprinkles, chopped nuts, or assemble with jam as desired.
