Preheat oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 22x33 cm baking dish.

Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Sauté onion for 2–3 minutes, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes to harmonize flavors.

Toss drained macaroni into the sauce and mix until evenly coated.

Layer half of the pasta and beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half the mozzarella, then layer remaining pasta mixture, topping with remaining mozzarella and all Parmesan.

Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes or until cheese is golden and bubbling.

Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
